Description

Idaho State Department of Education announces a training event for classroom teachers, school nurses, health educators, curriculum directors, and after-school coordinators.

F.L.A.S.H. is a comprehensive sexuality education curriculum that has been adopted and widely used by school districts in Washington and throughout the United States and Canada. First developed by King County Public Health between 1985 and 1992, revision of key lessons began in 2002 to accurately reflect advances in medicine. The curriculum aligns with the new Idaho Health Education Standards, which were modeled after the National Health Education Standards.

Who should attend?

Districts and schols are encouraged to send a health education leadership team (this may include administrators, teachers, school nurses, counselors, and after school coordinators).

Substitute reimbursement: Will be paid for and forms will be available at the training.

College credit is available through BSU if you attend both days.

Parking Options: There is free street parking two blocks north of the capitol. Capital Mall Visitor Parking is available at 6th & State in the old Ada County Court House, however; there is a 3 hour limit which would require you to move your car or you could pay for parking in one of the numerous downtown garages.
